i am not 100 percent sure but i think it would be found on the barrel.
It's a 16 gauge shot gun I have the same one and I recommend using the lighter factory loads.
im 99% sure its 1948
I know that 8 gauges are made, but I'me sure that there are specialty guns that are in even larger gauges.
I am not sure on the price because i am also looking for a price for i have a full box of FMC 14 gauge shells #7.5 shot. If interested e-mail @ jjbct@hotmail.com
being that your savage/stevens shotgun was made between 1933-1945,I would have a gunsmith check your shotgun to make sure it is safe to use and at that time question him on use of steel shot through your shotgun.
I am pretty sure that it is modeled after the mosberg. That is how i order parts for mine.
If no serial numbers are present, than you can be sure that it was made prior to 1969.Other than that I cannot say.
I have been looking for a 12 gauge Witte shotgun. Not sure what they are worth. Do you have one for sale?
Hey, I'm not sure about the worth, but I am also interested in the answer. I too just found a Remington 870 wingmaster 12 gauge made in 1951...
