UMC is Union Metallic Cartridge- a maker of ammunition. Have never seen UMC on a rifle, only on cartridges.

I would really like to answer your question but I need to know the model number. Crosman has made several .22 Cal rifles over the years.
I posted a link (related links) for Remington on their archive page to bolt action rifles, you might be able to identify it there.
Barrett makes a range of .50 rifles, some of which are self loading (semiautomatic), and some of which are bolt action. The most famous of these rifles is the M92/M107, which is semiautomatic.
The best one you can afford that was designed for 22LR rifles.
1932-1957
how much is a noble arms 22 cal bolt action worth
Should be the Mossberg 346 - Produced for Western Field until 1971. 24 inch barrel, holds Shorts, Longs, and Long Rifles.
Was there a marlin 22 cal. bolt-action rifle made in 1920's?
Your Browning safari model bolt action rifle was made by FN of Belguim for Browning in the Year 1963.
I believe your Westerfield rifle was made for Montgomery Wards stores by Mossberg as their model 346K. These were made from about 1958-1971. If your rifle has no serial number, it was made prior to 1968. That was the first year that Federal law required serial numbers on rifles.
