It is sucking air and the [plastic gasket needs to be sealed tight. I would guess the the knobs part number 712-0421 are working loose and this allows air to seep in from around the plastice seal. I would recommend using a fender washer and a 5/16" by 18 locking nut in place of the knobs to keep it sealed
