The government should not be able to make gun restrictions more strict because written into the Constitution is a little part about being an American citizen gives us the right to bear arms. Legal possesion of a firearm is a part of the rights as an American citizen.
The restrictions on who can possess a firearm and who can't seem to work well. (ie... felons cannot carry firearms etc.)
Legal firearms are used for important things such as home protection, they are carried by law enforcement officals, and are used for hunting. All these things are part of the fabric of American life.
Putting higher restrictions on firearms would only take away some of our rights as American citizens.

This heavily depends on your definition of a good reason. Generally, the reasons for gun control are emotional, stemming from fear. Many people find such reasons to be insufficient and therefore believe there are no good reasons for gun control.
