The Remington Model 12 Sportsman came in semi-auto or pump configurations, and were made from 1984-1986 (vintage?). The auto is booked at $300 in 100% condition and $150 in 60%. The pump from $275 to 140. (Add 10% if it has Rem-chokes).
If the gun is totally immaculate, zero flaws, 100%; it's worth $300. If it's 98%, it's worth $260; 95% is $220. 90% is worth $195. Add 10% if the barrel takes rem-chokes(screw-in). The gun was only manufactured in 1985 and 1986; and the 1985 models did not have the screw-in chokes. Mine hasn't ever jammed in over 1000 rounds fired through it. I'm convinced that this model, which was supposed to be the cheap affordable version, has more quality than today's fancy 1100. I can tell that the receiver is milled out of a solid block of steel, and may be a heavier weight receiver than the modern 1100.
Well to start with you will need to know what is wrong with it ????
The Auto 5 is. No, the Auto 5 is not. It's blow back operated. (the barrel moves).
