in an outdoor dog house there should be a dog blanket for when it rains or isw cold, the dogs dog food and water for when it sleeps out at night, the dogs favourite toys or chews, something that the dog likes so that it doesn't get scared when it goes outside for the night.
will you get a fine if your dog is tied up at night but opened during the day
no it's not bad for them to be in and out. A collie is a dog with a thick coat. They might have cold snowy feet when they come in, but they won't be dead;). Although I wouldn't leave them out all day and/or night.
I recently heard that the Inuit have many words for "cold". Apparently one of them directly translated means "three dog cold". So a three dog night would be a really cold one!
A three dog night is a very cold night in which you need all three of your dogs to keep you warm. Or you could always buy a forth if the it goes below zero.
The dog has a higher temperature than we do so when the ambient temp. drops there body feels it faster than we do. That's why dogs like to cuddle up to us. To keep there body temp. up. Ever herd of 3 dog night. That's a really cold night. And because there body's are so warm we use 3 dogs a night to cuddle up to us to keep us warm and a one dog night wouldn't be as cold.
It's house may be quite cold or uncomfortable. Your dog is probably used to your home more than a different place.
I keep my dog in a cage at night time. But I just keep in the house to run free.
This depends on whether or not you want to house train a dog in the cold weather if you live where it gets pretty cold. Spring and summer and fall are better times to get dog due to it being easier to house train in warmer weather, you dont have to stand out in the snow, sleet, cold rain.
Because the Mountain Feist Dog is a short coated dog, it should not sleep outside. How old your dog is needs to be considered. Very young and old dogs are especially vulnerable to the cold. You should never leave your dog outdoors in temperatures below freezing. Small dogs that don't have thick long fur can't tolerate the cold. During the coldest days and night, your dog should be brought inside. A good rule of thumb is, bring your dog inside the moment you start to feel cold yourself.
The only way to prevent this, is to walk the dog in the evening. Don't give it pills, your dog will hate you for it.
I have a pure bred, red Japanese Akita and he loves going outside. It's not a good idea to let your Akita to be a house dog. Let him/her be a outdoor dog during the day, and a indoor dog during the night. Also, since there was a bear hunting dog and that lived in snow, they would like to be in the snow for the winter time and not too hot during the summer time.
