What does sleep or hibernate mean?

Sleep means when you rest at night and your conscious mind is not aware of what is going on around you.

Hibernation is similar, but it is a very long period of rest that some animals take, to wait out a winter season for instance. They usually build up body fat before this so that their bodies have something to live on while they sleep for so long.
