The iceman, better known as Ötzi, is presently displayed at the South Tirol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano, South Tirol, Italy.
In 1991 he was found perfectly preserved in ice.
"Otzi the Iceman" got his name from the Otztal Alps, where his mummified body was discovered in 1991. This nickname also refers to the fact that he was exceptionally well-preserved due to the ice and snow in which he was found.
He was found in ice when some hikers came across him.
