In this context, "puffs" refer to the number of times a patient should inhale or take the medication, while "BID" stands for "bis in die" in Latin, meaning "twice a day." Therefore, "2 puffs BID" instructs the patient to take two puffs of the medication two times a day, typically spaced out evenly.
