for many years
Before Christopher Columbus, Norse explorer Leif Erikson is often credited as the first European to reach North America around the year 1000 AD, landing in an area he called Vinland, believed to be part of modern-day Newfoundland, Canada. Additionally, indigenous peoples had been living in the Americas for thousands of years prior to any European contact. Thus, while Columbus is commonly recognized for his 1492 voyage that connected Europe and the Americas, he was not the first to discover the continent.
pretty much since the start when Christopher Columbus founded it in the 1400s ever since then Haiti has been in plenty of oppression
Hispaniola was founded by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and Saint Dominique(Haiti) was founded and has been taken from the Fench.
Historians have proven that several hundred years before Columbus (1492) the Vikings came to the New World and before them it has been proven the Chinese also had ships arrive in North America.
If Columbus had not journeyed to the Americas, the timeline and nature of European colonization could have been significantly altered. Indigenous cultures might have developed without the immediate impact of European diseases and the subsequent demographic collapse. Additionally, the transatlantic trade and the exchange of goods, ideas, and populations would have evolved differently, potentially delaying or changing the course of globalization. Overall, the absence of Columbus's voyages could have led to a vastly different geopolitical landscape in both Europe and the Americas.
Columbus was about 41 on his first voyage.
He didn't find a passage to get to the West Indies. It would have been a shorter voyage for traders.
No, he died in disgrace and fighting for his title and the money he felt he earned from his trips. He had been shipwrecked for over a year on his last voyage to the Bahamas and wasn't well.
Christopher Columbus sailed from Italy to Portugal as a teenager. This voyage ended in shipwreck. He did not sail again until 1492.

Voyage to the Americas would not have been possible without the support of Queen Isabella of Spain, also he was a sailer
Christopher Columbus was on a voyage to find a shorter route to Asia for the purpose of trade. Europeans were traveling to Asia by sailing around the southern tip of Africa or overland through Arabia. If he had been successful, it would have allowed Spain to enter into the spice trade with the east, but he seriously underestimated the circumference of the earth. Had Columbus not convinced his crew to continue their voyage, they would likely have returned to Spain without discovering the New World. This would have meant that the potential for European exploration and colonization of the Americas would have been significantly delayed. Additionally, the exchange of cultures, goods, and ideas that followed Columbus's voyages would not have occurred at that time, altering the course of history. The voyage ultimately changed global trade, politics, and demographics in profound ways.
Fray Bartolome de Las Casas sailed with Columbus on Columbus's third voyage, 1498-1500. Las Casas had probably met Columbus before the famous 1492 voyage because Las Casas's father sailed with Columbus to the New World (Las Casas would have been about nine years old in 1492). During his own voyage with the captain, Las Casas saw both Columbus the explorer and Columbus the governor. Las Casas had high praise for Columbus the explorer because of the sailor's efforts to bring Christianity to the Native Americans. For Columbus the governor, however, Las Casas had a much different view. Las Casas was shocked by the atrocities against the Indians which were allowed by Columbus.
