As a result, the public began to not a agree with this eventually leading onto the English Civil War.

∙ 8y agoThe English Civil War was caused by King Charles I, and his supporters, known as the Cavaliers, wishing to keep the Monarchy in total control. Oliver Cromwell, and the New Model Army (Roundheads) wanted Parliament and the people to be in control.
The Roundheads won, Charles lost his head, and Cromwell and Parliament ruled, until on Cromwell's death, the Monarchy was brought back, and Charles II was crowned King.
