The clothing was able to express individual characteristics and some people didn't like being the "perfect house wife" or any of the other sterotype icons. They wanted the Veitnam War to end, and our troops brought home. They did drugs because weed brought people together and made them happy. The only thing the "hippies" wanted was peace and love, no more fighting and killing. They wanted the perfect world.
