After WWII Both the united states and russia became superpowers.
At the end of World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union emerged as the two dominant superpowers. The U.S. established itself as a leading economic and military force, promoting democracy and capitalism, while the Soviet Union expanded its influence through communism and military strength. This rivalry set the stage for the Cold War, characterized by ideological, political, and military tensions between the two nations. Their competition shaped global politics for decades to come.
During World War II, the main superpowers were the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and China. These nations formed the Allied Powers, opposing the Axis Powers, which included Germany, Italy, and Japan. The U.S. and the Soviet Union emerged as dominant global superpowers by the war's end, significantly influencing post-war politics and international relations. Their military strength and economic resources were crucial in securing victory and reshaping the world order.
The end of World War I. It served as fuel for the beginning of World War II.
Germany. It split into East and West Germany.
there was only one superpower left after ww2 and that was the allies
It was the end of two superpowers, leaving the US as the sole superpower of the world It was the end of two superpowers, leaving the US as the sole superpower of the world
After WWII Both the united states and russia became superpowers.
At the end of World War II (and by virtue of it), the United States had become one of two superpowers in the world (the other being the Soviet Union).
Most of the same superpowers were still in place after WW2 but I think what you're referring to is the Soviet Union and the U.S. The war had left all of Europe in ruins, except the impenetrable USSR. England and France lost a lot of their standing because of how much damage the had to undo. America and the Soviet Union emerged as two very very powerful nations, both with nuclear power and what made this so scary was the fact that by the end of the war, they were enemies.
The Axis powers were recognized as world superpowers - Germany and Japan more than Italy The US and UK were recognized as world superpowers - with France falling from that status once German forces invaded and the USSR rising to that status by the end of WW II.
Funfact: The end of World War II saw the rise of TWO superpowers: The US and the Soviet Union. That's why the forty years of glaring at each other and spying is considered a Cold War instead of two countries not liking each other.
Turn Left at the End of the World was created in 2004.

The superpowers so close to end the war
-USA and USSR were only superpowers left at the end of WWII -different forms of government (democracy vs totalitarianism) -fear of communists from earlier red scare
The Battle of Britain was not exactly the beginning of the end for Great Britain since they were successful in driving the German airborne raiders off but World War II as a whole could be counted as the beginning of the end for Britain because after the war, the two superpowers that emerged were not Britain and the Soviet Union, they were the United States and the Soviet Union so basically Britain started declining after that until all it had left were little jump jet carriers, with no formidable navy or air force like the United States.
