Why would Native Americans and mezitos want to throw off Spanish rule?
The Native Americans and Mezitos threw off Spanish rule simply
cause they felt the Spanish were a threat. The Spanish were of
another world to these cultures, and vise versa. Having the Spanish
rule them would put their beliefs, traditions, culture, and way of
life in jeopardy. Normally when one country or group more efficient
explores into anothers ground, they tend to spread their ideas and
own way of life from the previous. The Mezitos and N.A. most likely
resented this change, and wanted to live their own way which they
thought was the right way. So you have a clash of different worlds
with different views, causing confusion. Confusion can lead to
fear, and fear can turn into hate. Two of them probably had the
minset of overcoming the fear of spanish takeover, in which they
used hate to overcome that fear. In their eyes, if the Spanish were
so willing to explore their world, they could be willing to
eliminate the unfit in what they want for this New World. The N.A.s
and Mezitos wanted their world back, their religious views,
beliefs, traditions. I'm sure asking the Spanish "Hey can you
PLEASE leave", wouldn't turn out so good. They wanted to show who's
boss basically.
