Key European explorers who journeyed to the Americas include Christopher Columbus, who made his first voyage in 1492, John Cabot, who explored the North American coast in 1497, Hernán Cortés, known for his conquest of the Aztec Empire in the early 1500s, and Francisco Pizarro, who conquered the Inca Empire in the 1530s. Other notable figures include Amerigo Vespucci, whose explorations contributed to the naming of America, and Jacques Cartier, who explored parts of Canada in the 1530s. These explorers played significant roles in the early European exploration and colonization of the Americas.
There are many European nations that were considered to be the biggest slave trader. France, Germany and Portugal are top on that list.
Prior to the Columbian Exchange, Europeans were largely unaware of several important items from the Americas. This included crops like maize (corn), potatoes, tomatoes, and cacao (chocolate), as well as animals such as turkeys and llamas. Additionally, the exchange introduced novel goods like tobacco and various types of beans. These items significantly impacted European diets and agriculture upon their introduction.

When the EEC (European Econmic Community) was first established it was as a trading bloc to help commerce develop between the countries of Western Europe. Gradually the people that ran it, with the connivance of politicians, arranged for it to develop into a political union (a sort of United States of Europe). A new name was obviously needed if the populations of the countries concerned were not to be constantly reminded of what they originally agreed to and so it was that the new name of European Union came about.
The European countries searched for new land to find resources, to spread Christianity, and to gain dominion over new lands. Each of these aspects gave them power and wealth.

Explorers might have come to America in search of new trade routes and resources, as European nations were eager to expand their wealth and influence. They were also motivated by the desire to spread Christianity and convert Indigenous populations. Additionally, the allure of discovering new lands and claiming territories for their home countries drove many explorers to venture into the Americas.
