On 1st August 1920, Non-cooperation and Khilafat Movement began.
Gandhi started his non cooperation movement
Non-cooperation movement was led by Mahatma Gandhi. Indians boycott British jobs. They also refused to buy British goods. Many laws were broken that were oppressive for people.
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Mohammad Ali led the khilafat movement with the help of Gandhi Ji this move also started in 1921 just like the non-cooperation movement
The main difference between the two groups is the religion. The Khilafat movement was a pan-Islamic, political protest campaign started by Muslims in India and the Non-cooperation movement was a nationwide campaign of mass, peaceful civil disobedience, led by Mohandas Gandhi and was supported by the Indian National Congress, whose members were principally Hindu. They worked well together against British rule until outside religious-political groups started accusing each group of solely representing their own interests.

Non cooperation movement
Mahatma Gandhi initiated the non-Cooperation movement he did not want to support the British in their functionality of ruling the country. He did this by following his motto of non-violence and was sure that others would follow him. But, there were some parts in the country where this was not followed and the people came down to violence. Hence, he thought of taking back his non-cooperation movement.
