The short term causes is something i do not know and is exactly what i am looking for however i know what the long term causes are. Religion, Politics, Economy. Short term causes may have something to do with how Charles used his money; on his own clothes, favourites and his family rather than on his country

Actually, there were three English civil wars, beginning in 1642 and ending in 1651. It had many factors, including a deteriorating and contentious relationship between the British Parliament and King Charles. (Part of the problem was that Charles believed in the "Divine Right of Kings" and thus believed he did not have to listen to parliament. Obviously, parliament disagreed.) Charles then tried to arrest and imprison members of parliament who disagreed with him.

Those clashes led to the English civil wars and ultimately to a re-evaluation of the role of parliament and the role of the king (or queen). As for Charles, he himself was arrested, in a very controversial decision; he was convicted of treason and executed in 1649. For a while, England was not governed by a king, but rather, by a military and political leader named Oliver Cromwell. The monarchy was eventually restored, but it would no longer have the absolute power it had maintained for centuries.

How would you explain the difference between civil and political rights?

Civil rights refer to the basic rights and freedoms that protect individuals from discrimination based on characteristics like race, gender, or religion. Political rights, on the other hand, relate to participation in the political process, such as the right to vote or run for office. In essence, civil rights guarantee equality and protection under the law, while political rights enable individuals to have a voice in shaping that law.
