Arthur Fry first launched the post-it note in 1977 but it failed. Then, a year later, he began giving out free samples in Idaho and 90% of people said they would buy the product. By 1980 they were being sold nationwide across America and in 1981 they were launched in Canada and Europe.

Arthur Fry first invented the Post-it Note in 1974 while looking for a bookmark. Fry took some of Dr. Spencer Silver's adhesive and applied it to the edge of a piece of paper and solving his problem. Using this year, Post-it Notes are 37 years old. However, Post-it Notes were not manufactured till 1977 and the official launch wasn't till a year later in 1978.
