He was shot in the butt. Don't know about the butt part, but he was shot in a battle with the Spanish 1594 while laying seige to Crozon. He was taken back to Plymouth, England and died of his wounds on the 22 November

the Pilgrims sailed the sea on their ship the mayflower they were trying to get to Jamestown Virgina but the wind blew them of course up north and they finally crashed on Plymouth rock and started Massachusetts which later was one of the most important colony during the revolutionary war
William Bradford was the governor of the Plymouth colony settlement during the period of 1621 to 1656. During this period, he served five times as governor for a total of thirty years. William Bradford traveled on the Mayflower with the Pilgrims in 1620. He died in 1657.
