Its not just African Americans who mispronounce words. Sometimes some people have a hard time pronouncing things so they say it the best way they can.
"Black people", in my experience, but one tends not to label. Except for a few special places, we don't have a lot of families who were involved with the slave trade in the US. Instead, we have a lot of immigrants from the West Indies and from Africa, so they're often called "Jamaican" or "Kenyan".
