How does Graystripe die?

He doesn't die. In The New Prophecy (Second Series) he is carried off by two-legs. Graypaw(now Graystripe) eventually manages to escape and along his way back to Thunderclan he meets Millie, a kittypet. He eventually returns to Thunderclan and goes back to living as normal a life as possible.

He hasn't died yet

But he is going to in the first book of a new reign the next warrior cat series. Brambleclaw will die before he becomes leader, and Graystripe will die soon afterwards, savaged by a pack of dogs. There was a contest to win the Manu scripts for the first book of a new reign and I win. Here is an exact passage from the book. "All around camp cats fell silent, looking down at graystripes broken, bloody body. Firestar heard a wail that sounded much like Millie's, yet he sat down on his haunches. Graystripe had been with him through everything, ever since they were paws. He bent down to touch his nose to graystrips bloody, cold pelt. "Goodbye dear friend". He nodded to the elders, and they proceeded up to Graystripe, rubbing herbs all over him"

Of course! Every cat will die, no cat lives forever. Graystripe's death has not been confirmed though, but it might happen in the next series-- if there is one --or Erin Hunter just might surprise us in the current books. Either way, with his age, there is a very good chance he will.

Graystripe's death has not yet been confirmed in a chat with Erin Hunter. But he will most likely be an elder, since he is the most senior warrior of Thunderclan.
