karana died soon after the people rescued her off the island. scence she was on the island for so long, her digestive system was used to the food on the island. i.e. coconuts, fish, ect... people were giving her lots of attention and different varieties of food that she could not handle it all. her stomach was not yet used to all the kinds of food.
