Judge Ford realizes that Sandy was Sam Westing when he tries to lead the heirs to the answer when he knew it was Crow instead of going with their plan to protect her from what they thought to be Westings plan. She also understood who he was when she really studied his face and thought to herself that after his car crash he thought no one would recognize him because of the damage that happened to his face. That was also when she realized why she was partnered with him, Westing knew the only way she wouldn't investigate him was if he partnered himself with her.
Sandy was insistent that his partner played the game in the Westing Game because he wanted to have a fair chance at winning the inheritance. He believed that if his partner didn't participate, it would give him an unfair advantage in solving the mystery and winning the prize. I'm not sure what you mean by this, but he didn't die until the end, long after the actual game. If you mean where they found the wax figure of him that they thought was Sam dead, then that would be the Westing House.
She does not really die any were during the story. But most likely she would die of old age if the story kept on going. :)
Doug Hoo's motive for killing Sam Westing was to prove his worth and intelligence. By solving the Westing Game and winning the inheritance, Doug hoped to show his family that he was capable and deserving of respect.

Sandy McSouther is the door man at sunset towers who working from 22 years as a door man. Sandy's real name is Alexander. He has broad shoulders and stands with his feet spread. He is also Sam Westing, Barney Northrup etc; etc.He is a door man and claims to have been fired by Westing in the paper mill for something he didn't do. He has a hole between his teeth which allows him to be a very good whistler.Sandy is also Turtle's (Tabitha Ruth/ T.R Wexler) best friend. She would never kick him. Sandy is usually very happy, cheery, and light. He is Judge Josie Jo's partner in the Westing Game.Just to point: Sandy is not a real person. Though he is Windy, Julian, Sam, and Barney, only one is real. That one is Windy Windkloppel. How is this inferred?: In earlier chapters, Grace Windsor [Later changed from Windkloppel] Wexler said she was the only true heir to the Westing Mansion, she was related to Westing. But, her maiden name is Winsor, not Westing. So, Windkloppel was the only real person out of the following: McSouthers, Northrup, Westing, and Eastman. (Please note: North, South, East, West.)
