She is skinny, blond with brown eyes, and pale.
Because (and I quote) "his hair looks like feathers"-leisel
The irony lies in the fact that Liesel, a book thief, is stealing books about topics such as the power of words (like "The Whistler") and the importance of standing up against oppressive regimes (like "The Shoulder Shrug"), when these are themes that she herself embodies through her actions. It adds a layer of complexity to her character and her role in the story.
Rosa is never siad to dislike Liesel in The Book Thief, but is actually said to love her in her own way. She gets cross with Liesel a lot of times, but loves Liesel as if she was her own daughter, and demands her to call her "Mama".
In "The Book Thief," Rudy Steiner is not a part of any street gang. He is the main character Liesel's best friend and admirer who shares her passion for stealing and reading books. However, there are mentions of other characters, like the leader of a local gang, but they do not play a significant role in the story.
When Max arrives in "The Book Thief," we learn that Rosa appears to be the tough and abrasive foster mother of Liesel Meminger. Despite her gruff exterior, she shows hints of concern and care for Liesel and Max, demonstrated through her actions like allowing Max to stay in their basement despite the risks.
Well Death is always being personified.
The Book Thief is set in Molching, Germany during the time of World War II with Hitler and the Nazis, and focuses on a girl called Leisel, and her troubles growing up as a foster child who likes to steal and read forbidden books. And there are other characters, like Rudy Stiener a boy boy she wil kiss after death and Max the Jewish Fist Fighter who becomes Liesel's best friend. I really recommend this read. .

Rudy's quest is to, predominantly, kiss Liesel. He also has many other quests through out the book like winning the races he won, thievery, helping Jews, etc. Hope this helped :)
As far as I'm aware, there is no character in The Book Thief called Lydia. The main character is a young girl named Liesl Meminger - did you mean her? If so, she loves reading (which is why she steals books) and spending time with her best friend, Rudy Steiner, and her foster family and Max, the Jewish man they are hiding in the basement. She goes to school, and also attends Hitler Youth meetings like most children her age in Germany during the Second World War.
In "The Book Thief," loyalty is demonstrated through Liesel's friendships with Max, Rudy, and Hans, who show unwavering support and love for her. Betrayal is depicted through characters like Frau Hermann, who keeps secrets from Liesel, and Hans Hubermann, who harbors a Jewish man in secret, putting his family at risk. These themes illuminate the complexities of human relationships and the impact of choices made during challenging times.
Courage: mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. In the book the "The Book Thief", set in Germany during the Nazi army and air raids back in late 1930 to early 1940's, Liesel Meminger she shows many acts of courage. In the book she shows her courage through the acts of stealing books and finding her passion. Liesel stole for the good of her and others. Liesel stole her first book when her brother pasted away. During his burial a young grave digger dropped his book, "The Grave Diggers Handbook." Liesel picked up the little book, and this was considered her first act of stealing. She held on to the book not because she liked its contents, but because it reminded her of the last time she saw not only her brother but also her mother. After moving in with her foster parents, and learning how to read and write, she started to steal books from the mayor's wife. With the first book, it was one that belonged to her mother. But after the thrill of going in and stealing the book, this would not be Liesel last book stealing incident. Of course she never really got away with the true act of stealing. She was never the less caught every time. The mayor's wife knew that she was being stolen from, but found it rather entertaining. Liesel during air raids would read these books that she "stole" from the mayor's wife to the kids and adults in the basement shelter. Later in the book Rudy and Liesel would go to farms and steal food. Of course during this time no one really had an abundance of food. But not only in the physical aspect of thing is Liesel showing courage but also in the fact that she stays strong and level-headed throughout the book. She shows she can remain a positive adolescent. Some of the benefits of showing courage in the book they all come a little closer and tended trust each other more. From hiding a Jew in their basement, to Hans keeping Liesel's secret of stealing books. Everyone in the book shows courage. Rudy didn't care what others though when he wanted to hang out with Liesel in school. Max took a leap of courage walking back to 33 Himmel Street. Han's showed great courage when walking back in to a war for the third time in his life. All of this gives one benefit in the end; they all were closer than two peas in a pod. They all could trust and rely on each other. Know that no matter what everyone had everyone's back. Courage is important to the overall meaning to the story because, it shows that the main character, Liesel is a lot stronger then than average girl. She goes through many losses, and separations. She shows strength and bravery, when most people would have lost all hope. She learns to fight for what she believes in and stick up for all the wrong things for all the right reasons. Liesel and Rudy demonstrate courage when they hand out bread to the Jews when they parade through town like Han's did. It also shows that it may be easier to overcome your fears and help others. Courage is the biggest part of this book because it's something we can all not only recognize but also resonate with. Everyone in this book shows courage, bravery, and strength
