he finds a sled at the top of the hill.
The main character in "The Giver" by Lois Lowry is a boy named Jonas. He is chosen to be the Receiver of Memories in his community and learns about the true history of the society and the role of the Giver.
Lois Lowry ends the book allowing the reader to have their own opinion on whether or not Jonas lives. In my opinion, Jonas lives because he goes sledding down the hill and hears something he has yet to receive from the Giver, music. However, there is also a side of me that says he dies because he finds the sled at the top of the hill, right where it was in the memory given to him by the Giver. So, there is no real definite yes or no answer, but, it's what you believe happened to him.
The falling action is when Gabe and Jonas escaoe from the community to find elsewhere
Jonas finds a sled at the top of the hill
Jonas and Gabriel's travel ritual involved taking The Giver's memory of the sled ride downhill to the top of the hill. They then ride down together, experiencing the thrill and joy of the journey before finally reaching the bottom. This ritual signifies their escape from the oppressive community and their newfound freedom.
Lois Lowrly wants you to complete the story there really is no end to it she wanted you to create the end. At the end, Jonas finds a sled and slides down a snow filled hill. He heres music. I think that Jonas is still alive and is back at the community because he is getting the memory of music. Jonas and Gabriel either died or entered the world where all of the memories came from. I personally believe they did NOT die, but I personally like the idea of the memories.
That would be on top of the ski hill.
G. D. Scarborough wrote "At the Top of the Hill" I know the lyrics, but have not been able to find them printed anywhere.
go on Google and hit images at the top left then type joe Jonas in red pants
In a field, with a big hill. On top of hill there is a building. Normans at bottom of hill, Saxons on top. But which is best? There's only one way to find out, FIGHT!!!!!!!! LOL Hope this helps! ;-)
In chapter 23 Jonas is still on his way "elsewhere". He is going up a mountain and then he is losing a lot of memories and cant keep Gabe and himself warm. Suddenly he feels numb and cant feel his legs and he keeps going though and at the top of the mountain he sees a sled ( like the one he received in his 1st memory from the giver). At the very end, he hears what is called music.
The duration of Top of the Hill is 3600.0 seconds.
