Is Twilight a book for a 9 year old?

I wouldn't recommend the Twilight series to anyone under twelve. It is fairly scary, and the language would be difficult to understand. Also, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn have mild sexual references. The series is actually aimed at young adults (teens) so wait till you're a teen to read it!

I'm a guy but I personally know that the Twilight Series is shifting more towards the Teenage Girls Favorites....i dont know your situation but dont give this book to a kid that thinks they can read a lot after finishing one Harry Potter book :-\ I heard they're long....romantic...and vampiry? so ya...theres your answer. On the other hand if you're looking for the book then i would just remember this is a girls book and they seem to be thrillers too....so ya =D

Not really. Not unless you want your kids reading about a shallow whiner of a "heroine" who disses any boy who isn't absolutely gorgeous, then goes out with an emotionally abusive/manipulative jerk vampire for the sole, singular reason that he's gorgeous.

The only reason I can think of to let a kid read it is as an example of how a relationship shouldn't be.

in my opion this book should be read by someone that is mature and can handle a teenage book there for i say 12+ would be a good age but if your kids are 10 or 11 it would probably be okay too.

Heck yeah! Everybody at my middle school adores the book! There are pictures all over the school library of twilight and every single time it comes into the library it is taken out in the first 5 minutes! So yes! Your 13 year old would love it!

I would say that Twilight is not recommended for 9 year olds. If you are talking about the movies, I wouldn't let them see the movies until they are about 11 or 12. If you are talking about the books, I'd say that you should be at least 10 or 11, because some of the words are hard to understand, there is some bad language, and some violence that 9 year olds wouldn't fully understand. Originally, the books were intended for teenagers and adults because of how Stephenie Meyer wrote them. She wrote them in a way that was meant for teenagers and adults because it is hard to understand for children at some points, and it could even be difficult for some teenagers. It depends on how much you read and how much you can understand, too. I suggest that the average 9 year old should wait until they are 10 or 11 for the books, and about 11 or 12 for the movies. I am saying that they should be 11 or 12 for the movies because it is rated PG-13, most parents won't let their children see it until they are 13, which is the recommended age for a PG-13 movie. But, it also depends on how mature the child is, and if he or she can understand what is going on in the books and the movies because it is really hard to understand at some points. I would save the last book, Breaking Dawn, until about 12 or 13, because there is some sexual talk and other things that are hard to understand and a bit hard for that age.

I am 10 and I love twilight i don't think it is inappropriate I'm 10 and I'm addicted. Unless you call a few bad words inappropriate then nothing inappropriate in any of the books hope that helps : D
