Yes, this is so true. Meyer gives us the impression that girls are happy in relationships were the boy is controlling and needs to confirm that she isn't going of to be with her 'dangerous' friends. It is very depressing that Meyer also thinks that women can only find self-actualization by having children. It's just weird.
(P.S: I actually love the series but there are some really bad messages for teenage girls, like it's OK to be sad if your boyfriend dumps you as long as your grades are OK!!??!!??)
