It depends on how sensitive the twelve year old is to sex scenes, such as in Twilight. Some parents may prefer if their twelve years olds didn't read/watch Twilight. Well yes and no because there are some scary parts and a kissing scene. I think it's ok for preteens I guess. I'm a eleven year old and I went to see it.

New Moon is completely appropriate for an 11 year old. It is the other 2 eclipse and breaking dawn, that you should watch out for.

There isn't anything massively rude or violent in the movie. The worst part is towards the end. It all depends on the eleven year old's carer or parent. I would say yes personally.
