Wisdom
Jonas will gain wisdom
the giver is the old guy in the book "the giver" that helps the receiver of memory, Jonas, to receive memories. it kindof explains itself if you read the book.
The Receiver had to transmit the memories he has within him, and all the memories from the past.
The Giver's job is to transmit memories to Jonas.
He puts his hands on Jonas' bare back (Jonas has to take off his tunic) and thinks of a memory, which Jonas immediately sees.
Jonas received memories from The Giver for several weeks before deciding to escape from the community.
Jonas gives people memories by running away so they can all go back to the community- for memories are forever. once he got memories, he has the ability to give them away to. he just followed what the giver did and gave some memories to Gabe.
One-generation memories are ordinary memories belonging to previous receivers of memories, while the memories Jonas receives are significant and emotion-filled memories chosen selectively by the Giver to impart wisdom and knowledge for the betterment of society. These memories are not randomly selected but deliberately transmitted to Jonas to fulfill his role as the Receiver of Memory.
Yes, in "The Giver," Jonas received memories from the Giver for about a year before deciding to leave the community.
The Giver gives Jonas memories of a peaceful sailboat ride on a calm lake, a family celebrating Christmas together, and children playing in the snow. These memories evoke feelings of joy, comfort, and harmony in Jonas.
Jonas' position of Receiver of Memories holds him responsible for keeping all of the town's old memories, in case they are required by the community for decision-making purposes.
