i do not believe 11 is an appropriate age to read breaking dawn, but if you think your child is ready to read it, go ahead. i would say starting from age 12-13 and up is more of an appropriate age for breaking dawn.
Most children can read simple picture books by age 5 (kindergarten). However, it's never too early to start. Read to your baby/toddler early on to instill a love of books.

Well, young children should not read them as they have battle scenes.
