Why don't you explore some of the more scientific / supernatural side of Twilight? For example:
1. could there be a scientific explanation for why vampires sparkle in the sun? (sure)
2. is there a medical reason why some people crave blood? (some say yes)
3. explore the scientific basis of vampire myths in general (diseases, superstition, etc.)
4. what is the difference between human blood and animal blood? does it truly "smell" different? what might be some explanations for the differences given in the books?
5. what are the harmful properties of sunlight?
6. conduct your own "psychic" experiment testing others' psychic abilities using playing cards or make up your own test.
7. is cross-breeding possible (human/animal)? why or why not?
8. what are some creatures that drink blood (i.e.mosquitos)? why do they do it? what is the purpose?
9. could a vampire be "cured" of bloodlust? examine the nutrients and properties of blood and see if they could be artificially recreated to satisfy bloodlust without actual blood.
10. explore each special ability of the vampires. are there examples in nature? ie. adrenaline causing superhuman strength in emergencies. why or why not are these abilities possible in either sporadic or sustained forms?
