When Simon tells Ralph "you'll get back to where you come from," he is suggesting that Ralph needs to find his way back to his true self and the values he originally held before the chaos and savagery took over on the island. Simon is encouraging Ralph to rediscover his sense of morality, reason, and leadership in order to survive and overcome the challenges they face.
When the conflict between Ralph and Jack gets bigger, the boys devide in two groups: Jack's and Ralph's group. the first one is more savage than the other. Ralph's group is only made up of Ralph, Simon, Piggy, Samneric and some of the little ones.
Simon volunteers to run through the forest to tell Piggy that the others won't be back until after dark. Simon doesn't believe that the beast is a physical entity that could harm him, so he knows that there is nothing to fear in the forest.
After the meeting broke up at the end of chapter 5 Ralph, Simon and Piggy bemoaned the absence of adults on the island. Ralph said, and I quote... "I wish my father... O, what's the use?" A lttle later he also said, and I quote... "If only they could send a message to us," cried Ralph desperately. "If only they could send us something grown-up... a sign or something."
When Ralph chose Simon and Jack to accompany him on his expedition to climb the mountain Piggy asked if he could come to. He was disappointed when Ralph refused his offer. He also expressed his disappointment that Ralph had revealed his nickname to the other boys despite Piggy earlier asking him not to do so.
I don't think that Ralph deliberately lies. I think that Ralph is so traumatised by what he experienced that he finds it difficult to come to terms with it. Ralph does actually say to Piggy things such as you didn't see what they did and it was murder, so he isn't denying what happened, he just doesn't want to relive the experience by discussing it with Samneric and apparently they feel the same way.
Ralph has come to realize they are living an uncivilized life. This is the stepping stone to the completely savage behavior that is to come.
When Jack and his hunters break off of the group, Piggy encourages Ralph to blow the conch and bring the meeting back together. Ralph chooses not to, saying that if the hunters choose not to come back, the whole order of their small society will be destroyed and he'll have no control.
