Piggy needs to become stronger and more attractive physically although he clearly possesses the most logic and intellect on the island he lacks leadership appeal like Ralph who is a young addonis and Jack who offers meat and protection two things that piggy cannot provide because of his poor physical ability

In chapter 8 of "Lord of the Flies," the boys who stay with Ralph are Simon, Piggy, and Samneric. They choose to remain loyal to Ralph and help him maintain order on the island.
Ralph asked Piggy to take down the names of all the boys. Later, when the first fire on the mountain top gets out of control Piggy admits that he doesn't know the names of all the boys or even exactly how many boys there are. He didn't forget to carry out Ralph's request but, as he explained, "They waited about two minutes, then... they just scattered everywhere. How was I supposd to know which was which?"
Ralph leads the group to the ledge in chapter 6 of "Lord of the Flies." He takes charge and motivates the others to explore the island with him.
Samneric choose to join Ralph and Piggy in Chapter 12 of "Lord of the Flies," after they are captured by Jack's tribe and forced to betray Ralph's hiding place. They express regret for their actions and seek safety with Ralph's group.
