Gabriel cried all night long
He stays in his family's dwelling. In one part, he stays the night with the Giver.
Jonas plans his escape with the Giver in chapter 19. But later Jonas changes the plan and can't wait the two weeks. His father is going to give his brother one more night to sleep through the night and if not the child will be released. Jonas has to leave in chapter 21.
The Giver and Jonas' plan was to for Jonas to escape the community during the December Ceremony in a truck driving out of the community, but when Jonas learned that Gabe was going to be released, he decided to take him and escape that night, to save Gabe.
Comfort objects are stuffed animals that are given to children when they are born to help them fall asleep. Lily's comfort object in The Giver is an elephant. These comfort objects were usually soft, stuffed and imaginary animals.Source: The Giver pg. 18 & 19
When Gabriel woke up crying during the night, Jonas comforted him by calming him down with memories of pleasant and soothing experiences from Jonas' own memory implant. This helped Gabriel settle back to sleep peacefully.
Gabriel is the newchild that does not sleep well at night. Jonas' father takes him home to give him special care.
The Giver ends each day of training by telling Jonas that he is proud of him and reminding him to rest and take care of himself. He also provides Jonas with soothing memories to bring him comfort at night.
the giver and Jonas plan is to get Jonas and gabe to escape without anyone that wasn't the plan. The plan was for Jonas to escape DURING the December ceremony, however, the plan got messed up when Jonas found out that Gabriel was going to be released, so he escaped before they could release him.
In Chapter 6 of "The Giver," Gabriel is identified as an infant who is struggling to sleep through the night and facing potential release from the community due to his lack of progress. Jonas, the main character, becomes attached to Gabriel and ultimately decides to take him with him when he leaves the community at the end of the book.
Jonas breaks the rule and takes Gabriel to the home of the Giver because he believes that Gabriel is in danger of being released from the community due to his inability to sleep through the night. The Giver offers to take care of Gabriel and protect him from being released. Jonas's decision reflects his growing awareness of the flaws in the community and his desire to protect those he cares about.
The first lie that Jonas tells his parents is about the dream he had at the beginning of "The Giver." He tells them that he dreamed he and Fiona were playing in the field during the daytime, when in reality it was at night.
Jonas saw search panes flying overhead. They hid under trees and traveled at night time.
