When memories are accessible to everyone in the community, it can foster greater understanding, empathy, and connection among its members. However, it can also bring about challenges such as privacy concerns, emotional distress, and potential conflicts arising from differing perspectives on past events. Proper management and communication are essential to navigate these complexities.
the memories started coming back to the people of the community and the freaked out
They were released to the community.
All the memories that the Giver had transmitted to her were released as well - but the memories were released onto the community, who had no idea how to handle with these memories of emotion, pain, and even color. The sudden burst of emotion and memory on the community was complete chaos.
The giver would likely say that Jonas left the community to save his baby brother Gabriel and find a new place that values freedom, emotions, and individuality. He took with him memories that would help future generations avoid repeating the mistakes of the past.
Jonas must keep the memories on behlaf of the communit, but doesn't share them because no one wants to experience the full range of emotions
they went back to the people
The plan is that Jonas leaves with his "Memories." I think they will slip away the further away he flees and closer to Elsewhere and the "Memories" will go back to the Community and everyone Receives them. I think Jonas and The Giver think that everyone in their Community will feel the pain they had to feel when the painful Memories were transfered. This will most likely kick reality into gear in the Community. Hope this helped! :)
The memories were released, they could feel emotions and see colors again. There was chaos inside their community.

In the novel "The Giver," the community gives up individual choices, emotions, memories of the past, and the ability to experience true pain and joy in exchange for peace and stability. This way, everyone conforms to a regulated and controlled society.
At the end of "The Giver," Jonas escapes the community with Gabriel, seeking freedom and a better life. The community is left in a state of uncertainty and change as they grapple with the memories and emotions that Jonas took with him. Jonas's departure prompts the community to question their way of life and consider making changes.
Shadow of Memories happened in 2001.
