On the cover is a hourglass with blood instead of sand inside. It represents how she only had a short time as a human. The blood is travelling down, like her days ticking away before she becomes a vampire.
i think the ribbon represents Bella. the ribbon is torn just as she is torn over if she wants Edward or Jacob more.
Actually, the ruffled tulip is on the cover of New Moon, the second book in the Twilight Saga. As it were, Stephenie Meyer says on her website that she had nothing to do with the cover for New Moon and she herself does not know what it's supposed to mean.
