Aslan sacrifices himself on the Stone Table in Chapter 15 in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" as a substitutionary atonement for Edmund's betrayal. By offering himself in Edmund's place, Aslan displays sacrificial love and ultimately defeats the White Witch's claim on Edmund's life through his act of selflessness.
Aslan's sacrifice in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" symbolizes the theme of self-sacrifice and redemption. By willingly giving up his life to save Edmund, Aslan demonstrates his love and willingness to bear the consequences of Edmund's wrongdoing. His sacrifice ultimately leads to the defeat of the White Witch and the restoration of peace and harmony in Narnia.
Largely because it was in CS Lewis mind to write in the form of an allegory. This is a poetic form where the meaning is implied rather than direct. The use of the lion image is a biblical but not very common symbol for Jesus, and refers to the Lion of Judah and the lion in the book of revelation chapter five.
Following Aslan is never safe. You know not where he will lead. He may lead you to the cross! Nevertheless, Aslan is good and His intentions for His people are good. He will always work things out for the ultimate good of His people in eternity.
Aslan, the Great Lion, symbolizes Jesus. Aslan died on the Stone Table to redeem Edmund, but rose again, just as Jesus died on the cross to save us, and rose again. And, in case you were wondering, God the Father is symbolized by the Emperor across the sea.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is potraying the Bible. Aslan, being Jesus. Another name for Jesus is Lion. Aslan is a Lion. Lamb is also another name for Jesus. In the books/movies Aslan turns into a lamb. When Edmund sins, Aslan saves Edmund from dying, as Jesus saved us from hell by dying for us on the cross. Aslan also rises from the dead three days later as Jesus did and defeats the White Witch (Satan)

The whole story! Aslan represents Jesus, the white witch represents Satan. Perhaps Edmund represents Judas Iscariot. If I had to say one event, it would be when the white witch kills Aslan. At that moment, the white witch is representing Satan, and Aslan is laying on the stone table representing Jesus on the Cross. When Aslan raises back from the dead and defeating the "old magic" (or "deep magic"), it is comparable with Jesus raising from the dead to defeat sin.
