I would say that "following the signs" is the primary one. Generally speaking, "the signs" are very much modeled after the book of revelation, where the New Testament repeatedly says to keep an eye out for the second coming of Christ. The Silver Chair precedes The Last Battle (which is symbolic of the Last Judgment). When Eustace is supposed to find his "old friend", I imagine C.S. Lewis was remembering the return of Elijah and Moses that is prophesied to happen at the beginning of the Apocalypse.

Other themes, though, include the theme of pride versus humility (especially in Eustace and Jill, as they are always bickering and trying to look smarter or braver than the other), and the idea of not being swept up the material world (i.e. the Giants' city); always remembering Aslan (God), and looking for Him everyday. The scene with the Underworld Witch who tries to put an illusion on our four heroes also shares this idea of not becoming so engrossed in ourselves (pride) and our desires as keeping our eyes and minds focused on God.
