Little Percival had a harder time adjusting to island life than any of the other boys. He often cried and repeated his home address for comfort. Ralph wept for the loss of innocence of the â??LittlUnâ?? since by rescue, Percival had become as changed and hardened as the rest of the boys.
Looking at Percival standing in the grass disturbs Ralph because it serves as a reminder of the boys' deterioration into savagery and loss of civilization. Percival's state of shock and confusion symbolizes the breakdown of societal norms and the boys' descent into primal behavior, which causes Ralph to feel a sense of unease and despair.
Ralph Emery has written: 'Memories'
Ralph asks Jack "Why do you hate me?" that causes the boys to stir uneasily. Hope that helped:)

The main characters of Lord of the Flies are Ralph, Simon, Jack, The Hunters, Piggy, and Samneric. The other characters are The littleluns, Maurice, Robert, Percival Wemys Madison, Johnny, and Henry.
In my personal opinion, Percival shows to illustrate the loss of civilization on the island. Where in Chapter 5, Percival recites his name and address constantly, at the end, he cannot remember his own name. Coupled with Ralph's forgetfulness of why he was lighting the fire, the memory of civilization is clearly illustrated as fading.
