The book came out in 1950, and the movie came out in 2005
1950
It was the beginning of the World War II when the children were being evacuated to the country so it was probably 1939.
The time setting in Prince Caspian is 100 Narnian years later than Tye Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and 1 year has passed in England.
That depends. When the Pevensie children first traveled to Narnia in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe they spent probably 10 or 15 years there, buy when they returned through the wardrobe it appeared that no time had passed at all in our world. Then, a year or so later when they returned to Narnia, they found that hundreds of years had passed there. The same thing happened in subsequent stories. So the answer is that time passes differently in Narnia, so its an "apples and oranges" kind of question.
It took C.S. Lewis about a year to write "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." He began writing the book in 1949 and completed it in 1950. Lewis was inspired by a dream featuring a faun carrying an umbrella and later remarked that the story came to him surprisingly quickly once he started writing.
Mrs. Macready is Professor Digory Kirke's housekeeper. The four Pevensie children: Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy come to live with the professor during World War II. Many parents are evacuating their children out of London, England. They fear for their children's lives. The German Air Force constantly bombs the city.In C. S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Mrs. Macready is a stern woman. She informs the four children, there is to be no shouting and running throughout Professor Digory Kirke's house. The children are not to disturb the Professor from his studies.Professor Kirke has a large estate in the country. Mrs. Macready efficiently runs the house. She loves the house and its contents, but shows no affection toward the motherless orphans. She leaves the children to find their own pleasures.Mrs. Macready loves to conduct tours of the house. It is her favorite duty. She instructs the children not to be seen by any of the tourists. It is this instruction which has the Pevensie orphans hiding in the Wardrobe. One day, they are playing. They overhear Mrs. Macready operating one of her tours. The group is advancing toward where the children play. They hide in the wardrobe to escape detection.Of course, this is the magical wardrobe. The wardrobe is a portal to the land of Narnia. Narnia is under a spell cast by Queen Jadis, the White Witch. The hundred-year-old spell has Narnia in a deep freeze. In The Witch, the Lion and the Wardrobe, Narnia is all snow and ice.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was made into a movie in 2005. Prince Caspian was made into a movie in 2008. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is currently in production (September 2009).
Before the beginning of the novel, the Pevensie children lived in London with their mother, while their father was fighting in the war. At the very beginning of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe they were sent to live in the country, to be away from the bombings that were happening in London. This happened to many children during the war- they left London to live with strangers in the country, which was safer than living with the constant bombings.
Georgie began acting at a very early age, and started doing different programs. Although I don't know exactly know when she started, I do know that Pippa Hall, one of the casting directors of The Lion the witch and the Wardrobe, found her in an after-school acting group. She liked this young actress and after a few inteviews, they had their Lucy. Georgie has played the role of Lucy Pevensie ever since then. She's starred in the Lion the witch and the Wardrobe (2005), Prince caspian (2008) , and Voyage of the Dawn Treader which recently came out in May of last year.
