Jack is probably the most dynamic character in Lord of the Flies. Although he largely remains unchanged he causes change in other around him. Jack is the root cause of all the major changes which take place on the island. Jack forces change. Without Jack the rest of the boys would have happily followed Ralphs lead, built shelters and been rescued by the first passing ship.
