Who protects the kits in the Warriors book series?

In each Clan of the Warriors series, queens (pregnant she-cats or those with newly born kits) are the primary caregivers for kits who inhabit the nursery. However the protection of all cats in the Clan, including kits, falls under the responsibility of the warriors and apprentices in the Clan.

In the Warriors book series, the kits are usually protected by their mother, other queens in the Clan, and occasionally by the medicine cat or other warriors in the Clan. The whole Clan has a responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of the youngest and most vulnerable members.
