To take the names of the boys
They take piggies glasses to make fire
Ralph and Simon went with Piggy to take names of the boys in "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding.
He orders piggy to Get the names of every other child in the island. To quote from the book Ralph says... "Now go back, Piggy, and take names. That's your job. So long." To Quote directly from the book, Ralph says... "Now go back, Piggy, and take names. That's you job. So long."
Jack attacked Piggy rather than Ralph because he knew Piggy wouldn't fight back. If he had attacked Ralph there was a good chance that Ralph would have beaten him and Jack couldn't take the risk of losing face in front of his own hunters.
Ralph and Piggy develop personal-friend bonds, Ralph playfully teases Ralph while the other boys condescend him, Ralph is the only boy who defends Piggy however. Piggy stresses that Jack is against civility, which Ralph stands for, Piggy says that Jack holds no regard for Piggy, nor any concern for him.
Because 1: Piggy and Ralph got the conch they used as a talking power in the assemblies; 2:Ralph is still the leader after all; 3: Piggy owns the specs, he has the power to take what he owns back in a civilized group(but apparently it is not)
To quote from the book... Ralph said... "Now go back, Piggy, and take names. That's your job. So long."
The 'secret' which Piggy entrusted to Ralph was that at school he had been nicknamed Piggy. Once he tells Ralph and Ralph later reveals this to the rest of the boys the nickname is used whenever he is referred to and his real name is never actually revealed.
Piggy is fully aware that Ralph is the only thing that is preventing Jack from becoming chief. Piggy knows that if Jack does become chief all hope of rescue will disappear because Jack will only bother about hunting and the signal fire wil be forgotten. Piggy is also fearful for his own safety.
Piggy plays the role of Ralph's closest advisor and confidant in the community. He provides logical insights and ideas that help maintain order and structure despite the chaos and challenges faced on the island. Piggy's intelligence and wisdom contribute to Ralph's leadership and decision-making.
Ralph tells Piggy to stay behind to look after the Littluns by saying that he needs Piggy to take care of things during his absence and keep an eye on the younger boys. He also reassures Piggy that he will come back soon.
