Franklin W. Dixon is a pseudonym used by the various authors who have written books in The Hardy Boys series. The series was originally created by Edward Stratemeyer, a publisher, who wanted to create a detective series aimed at young boys. The authors who wrote under the name Franklin W. Dixon were hired to continue the series and develop new stories for the characters.
No one except Franklin W. Dixon wrote the series of the Hardy Boys.

The "Hardy Boys Casefiles" series was written by multiple authors under the collective pen name Franklin W. Dixon. It was created as a spin-off of the original "Hardy Boys" series and features the teenage detectives Frank and Joe Hardy solving more mature and complex mysteries.
The original author of the Nancy Drew series also wrote the Hardy Boys mystery series under the name Franklin W. Dixon. Caroline Keene was simply a pen name. After the original author passed away, the series were continued by his daughter.
Some of the books were written by the same author from Nancy Drew. But both series have been written by a whole slew of different Ghost Writers, meaning they write in the series under the same Pen-name as the original author.
The most suspenseful part was when Frank and Joe Hardy find the stolen treasure in a old water tank. Hobo Johnny finds them in there and locks them up in the tower. Hobo Johnny said that that was his headquarters and no one could take what was in there, but they needed the stolen treasure.
