Why did Hollyleaf die in Sunrise?

I have a question.........if Jayfeather,Hollyleaf and Lionblaze are supposly the three cats in the prophecy.............then what about Dovepaw the summary I read said she later found out she was the third cat........does that mean Hollyleaf was supposed to die and was never the third..........and she had to die when Dovepaw was born,the true third cat in the prophecy......and if so is she their sister too? UGH I NEVER READ THE WHOLE SERISE AND IM CONFUSED DX and im new on this.......:P

Hollyleaf was enraged at how her very birth was a violation of the warrior code. In her desperation to get away from everything she ran into a tunnel and the tunnel collapsed.

Note: We do not know for sure that Hollyleaf is really dead. There have been rumors that she is not dead but simply lost in the tunnels beneath the forest. In any case we will probably find out when the next book is released.

Hollyleaf died in "Sunrise" after confessing to breaking the warrior code and feeling guilty for her actions. She sacrificed herself to save Ivypool and end the battle with Ivypool's loyalty intact.
