Yonkers is part of the affluent Westchester County of New York state. With a population of over 200,000 people, it is the fourth largest city in New York. Located along the Hudson river and only 10 miles north of New York City, Yonkers welcomes visitors to its streets and provides easy access to Manhattan.

The Yonkers Station is served by Amtrak, for more distant inter city train rides. Yonkers is easily accessible by vehicles via the The Saw Mill Parkway and Interstate 87. The Bee Line Bus System provides local bus transportation in Yonkers and throughout Westchester County.

One of the most popular tourist attractions of Yonkers is the area near the Hudson River Museum. Located in a historic mansion along Warburton Avenue, the museum has one of the finest collections of art related to the Hudson River Valley. Historic photographs and modern sculptures are the other items worth exploring. After enjoying the museum, visitors could take a walk or settle down for a picnic at the nearby waterfront John F Kennedy Marina park, which offers scenic views of the Hudson River.
