Some ducks inexplicably become ill and show some signs of Ataxia (called Stargazer Syndrome by falconers) Usually Avian Ataxia is caused by neurological damage whether from too much handling or from something they have eaten (millipedes, pill bugs and centipedes can bring on sudden Ataxia). It can also come from malnutrition and severe dehydration due to injury or internal parasites. Usually to fix this problem if it is not too late you can administer Thiamine or Thiamin which is Vitamin B1 and you can get it at any health products dealer such as GNC. Simply crush the B1 into a fine powder and mix thoroughly into water or for added electrolytes you can mix it into a diluted solution of Gatoraid. You'll probably need someone to help hold the ducks mouth open slightly while you administer the mixed water solution. Use a small syringe (I use a 20 cc myself) to give the solution to and go very slow allowing the duck to swallow and breath.
