No, not all owls are night owls. There are three recognised hunting times for owls, these being : Black or dark brown eyes suggest nocturnal activity Orange eyes suggests dawn or dusk Day owls have yellow eyes.

However, this is not always the case and is only a guide as to the hunting times of the owl.

About 60% of the species is nocturnal. The rest are diurnal, meaning active in the day.
