No. Insects, much like ourselves, reproduce sexually. Therefore, you need a male and female gnat to produce offspring. Gnats, and many other insects, lay their eggs in fruit as it will provide nurishment to their larvae. This leads many to believe that the gnats themselves are produced by the fruit when the juveniles emerge.
A gnat is a small biting fly like insect. A fruit fly is a small insect that eats rotting fruit.
yes, insects have heartsNo not all insects have hearts, but some have a heart like organ or anything else that acts similar to a human's heart. Also, some insects don't have hearts because they don't have any blood.

Yes, because in some places of the world, gnats can be abundant and so if a lot of them are in the same place at the same time, then it may look like a cloud because they are all bunched up together.

Yes, fruit flies and humans have the same evolutionary relationship to wheat. All animals have the same relationship to plants in evolution.

Yes, sodium lights repel gnats.Specifically, the term in question designates biting midges, fruit fly-like flies, gnats and midges. All of the above-mentioned insects have shared preferences for bright lights. Not one of them holds the same propensity for the sodium bulb's dimmer, more orange light. If their favorite food source of decaying material or waterlogged mulch is abundantly around, then dimmer lights will have the effect of repelling some -- but not all -- feeding-minded gnats.
It really depend on the type of "gnat". You must find the source of the problem. Drain flies for example reproduce in the drain pipes They are usually seen in bathroom and kitchens. Fruit flies are another common problem. You can tell if it is a fruit fly because it will have a red face or eyes. To control them get rid of the source...bananas, potatoes, anything organic. There are many types of grain months check all of your flour, cereal, spices... I hope this helps
