No, hamsters aren't hypoallergenic. Their fur doesn't shed much, but if you're allergic to them you shouldn't get one. I have a pet hamster, and when my mom holds him she gets a rash because she's allergic to him.
When I got a hamster, my friend (who is allergic to fur), was fine. You have to check each breed you like by holding, petting, and generally standing around them. If you get a rash, you are allergic! Hope this helps!
P.S. Hamsters don't live long! :-(
No there isn't. But, it's not the hamster people with Allergies are allergic to. It's the bedding.
